I have just finished reading the book – The Third Door from Alex Banyan. After reading it I decided to listen to him on Audibles, which was even better to hear the stories with the emotions attached. I would certainly recommend this for your reading list, if you haven’t read it already.
Here’s the abstract:
Life, business, marriage, success… it’s just like a nightclub. There are always three ways in.
There’s the First Door: the main entrance, where 99 percent of people wait in line, hoping to get in. The probability to get in through this door is very low.
The Second Door: the VIP entrance, where the billionaires and celebrities slip through. Very few can stand in this line with very high probability to get in.
But what no one tells you is that there is always, always… the Third Door. It’s the entrance where you have to jump out of line, run down the alley, know your champion, do your homework, bang on the door a hundred times, keep trying after every failure, be relentless and focused, believe in yourself and your conviction, crack open the window, sneak through the kitchen—there’s always a way.
Whether it’s how Bill Gates sold his first piece of software or how Steven Spielberg became the youngest studio director in Hollywood history or how Gandhi gave independence to India, they all took the Third Door. We have somehow grown up to believe opposite of Success is Failure – it is not – they are both functions of Trying – Success happens when you try enough – you look for the Third door and keep trying till you succeed.
The Third door is a platform of Entrepreneurship, it is the power of hustle, efforts with unmatched energy and the power of unlimited potential.
So, the question is, have you identified your Third Door? Are you ready to commit to it till you find it?
